Rajasthan offers incredible value. Budget hostels and guesthouses run ₹500–1,200 per night in most cities. Mid-range heritage havelis cost ₹2,000–5,000. Luxury palace hotels start at ₹10,000. Jodhpur and Jaipur have the best concentration of budget haveli guesthouses.
Food
Rajasthan is one of India's best value destinations for food. A full Rajasthani thali (dal baati churma, various sabzis, kheer) costs ₹150–400 at a local restaurant. Street food — pyaaz kachori, mirchi bada — is ₹20–50. Rooftop restaurants in Udaipur charge ₹400–900 per person, worth every rupee for the view.
Transport
Indian Railways is the most economical way to travel between cities. Jaipur–Jodhpur sleeper train is ₹300–500. Jodhpur–Jaisalmer is ₹350–600. State buses are even cheaper. Within cities, auto-rickshaws run on fixed routes for ₹50–200.
