Built between 1928 and 1943, Umaid Bhawan Palace is one of the world's largest private residences. Named after Maharaja Umaid Singh, this magnificent art deco palace in golden Chittar sandstone has 347 rooms. Part of it is the royal family's home, part a luxury hotel, and part a fascinating museum open to visitors.
