About City Palace, Udaipur
Towering over the eastern banks of Lake Pichola, Udaipur's City Palace is the largest royal complex in Rajasthan. Construction began in 1559 and continued through 400 years and 22 successive rulers, each adding their own wing. The result is a breathtaking fusion of Rajput, Mughal, European, and Chinese architecture, with mosaic peacocks, stunning mirror work, and sweeping lake views.
